Doris Barnett earned an Associates degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Rhode Island in 1995. She attended Roger Williams University where she majored in Paralegal Studies and minored in Business. She graduated cum laude in 1997 when she received a Bachelor of Science degree.
Ms. Barnett took two years off in between degrees to marry and care for her two children, then in 1999 she entered Roger Williams University School of Law. While attending law school, she worked as a full time paralegal. She graduated in 2003 receiving her Juris Doctor.
Ms. Barnett is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, Kent County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Ms. Barnett's areas of practice for both the States of Connecticut and Rhode Island include real estate conveyancing (residential and commercial), zoning matters, family law (divorces and child support and custody), and criminal law matters.
In keeping with the volunteerism and community service, Ms. Barnett is a volunteer with the North East Rottweiler Rescue & Referral. Unlike the other attorneys at Inman Tourgee & Williamson, the only enjoyment of sports she has is watching the New England Patriots play on Sundays while sitting on her couch.
