Tara L. Fontaine
Ms. Fontaine is a life-long resident of the town of Coventry, where she attended and graduated from Coventry High school. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1993, after which she moved to New York City where she worked for the Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During this time, Ms. Fontaine attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she received her Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology. After returning to Rhode Island in 2002, Ms. Fontaine worked at the Rhode Island Training School as the compliance coordinator until beginning her law school studies at Roger Williams University School of Law in 2004 from which she received her Juris Doctorate in 2007.
Ms. Fontaine is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Rhode Island Women's Bar Association, the American Bar Association and is licensed to practice in Rhode Island as well as in Federal District Court.
Ms. Fontaine's areas of practice include family law, juvenile law, criminal law, civil litigation, bankruptcy, and landlord/tenant issues.
Because of Ms. Fontaine's experience with children during her time at Memorial Sloan Kettering as well as at the Rhode Island Training School, she is involved with several children's charities as well as breast cancer awareness groups.
